Listen up, busy bees! ????????
Just because you’re busy, doesn’t mean you need to sacrifice your health and fitness goals. Here’s a little bit of tough love – we’re all busy. Everyone has their own sh*t going on. It’s up to you to decide how you want to spend your time and how important your goals are to you.
As a nutrition coach, I’ve helped hundreds of women learn how to lose weight and stay fit while living life on the go. As a frequent traveler myself, I’ve mastered eating healthy on the road, so I’m going to share my tips and tricks with you so you feel confident in making healthy decisions on your own!
Five Tips for Staying Healthy On The Go!
*Keep in mind that these tips don’t only apply to traveling. Most of these are the same recommendations I have my clients follow for their day-to-day routine!
- Stay hydrated. It’s easy to get caught up in your busy day and forget to drink enough water, but staying hydrated is key to feeling your best. Keep a refillable water bottle with you at all times and aim to drink at least 80-120 oz of water a day.
- Make dietary modifications. Don’t be afraid to ask for modifications when dining out. Most restaurants are happy to accommodate dietary restrictions or preferences, so don’t hesitate to ask for grilled instead of fried, or for your dressing on the side.
- BYO snacks. Whether you’re going on a road trip or just running errands around town, make sure you have healthy snacks packed and ready to go. Some of my favorites include cut-up veggies and hummus, pre-packaged nuts and seeds, jerky sticks, and protein bars.
- Get enough rest. Want to build muscle? You need sleep 🙂 Your body repairs itself while you sleep. Aim for 7-9 hours of good quality sleep each night if possible.
- Get active. Make exercise a priority. Even if you only have 10 minutes, a quick workout is better than no workout at all. Try to find some form of physical activity that you enjoy and can easily fit into your schedule, whether it’s a yoga class or a quick run around the block. You can take the stairs instead of the elevator or do some stretching exercises while waiting for your flight at the airport.
