In this post, I’ll be covering everything we did during our 3-day trip to Moab, UT! If you love adventure, good food, and fun, you’ll love Moab!

Day 1

We started with breakfast at Bonjour Bakery in town before heading out for the day. We both got the ham and cheese croissant and a coffee. Everything was delicious! It never got too busy, so we were in and out fairly quickly.

Afterwards, we headed to Arches National Park for the day. Since our time was limited, we started with a few of the more popular trails – Delicate Arch Trail and First Furnace Lookout. Delicate Arch Trail is where you’ll find the iconic arch you see plastered all over social media. The trail is 3.3 miles, out and back; rated ‘moderate’ on All Trails.

The trail wasn’t super busy, but it was super windy that day, so be prepared to pack layers and hold onto your hat LOL. This is a popular spot to take pics, so there was a short line, but it didn’t take long to move.

There’s plenty of space to stop and rest for a while. After heading back, we drove to the Firey Furnace Lookout point. During our trip, you had to have a permit to hike the actual trail (which we didn’t have), so we just stopped to admire the structures from a distance.

A self-guided hike to Fiery Furnace requires a permit, as it is a difficult hike. However, rangers offer hikes from Spring to Fall, with reservations.

Afterward, we drove back to town and had lunch at the famous Cactus Jack’s. Let me tell you…this was some of the best food I’ve had. For instance, I typically don’t like Eggs Benedict, but I tried my husbands Chicken Benny and, OMG, this was one of the best things I’ve ever put in my mouth. Definitely a must try!!

Since Arches National Park is not dog-friendly, we went back to our Airbnb, grabbed our dog, and headed out to one more trail so he could get some exercise. We did some Googling and found the Corona Trail near our Airbnb.

Later, we dropped him off and hit up Trailhead Public House and Eatery for dinner. They had the best margs and burgers! Highly recommend.

Day 2

Back to Cactus Jacks for breakfast #obsessed. I had to get the chicken benny for myself. We drove back to Arches National Park to get in one more trail: a portion of Devil’s Garden.

Before heading back to town, we also did a brief drive through Canyonlands National Park as well as Dark Horse State Park. Our dog was with us so we couldn’t get out in Canyonlands, but honestly, it looked just like Arches, so it really wasn’t necessary.

We did a short hike in Dark Horse State Park with our dog. I’d recommend going here! It wasn’t crowded at all, and we got to see somem great views! And by this time we were starving, so we headed back for dinner at Moab Food Truck Park.

Day 3

Day 3 was my favorite day! We booked a 4×4 Off-Road Adventure tour. We arrived at the tour center and started off with an introduction to the vehicles and what we’d be driving. I’d never driven a side by side off-road vehicle before, and I found it super easy to get the hang of. The guides are very patient and make sure everyone feels comfortable before heading out to the trails.

They have multiple options to choose from, but we did the Hell’s Revenge tour from 9-12:30pm, and we stopped about midway for a snack/water break. Our guide informed us that the best time to come to Moab and do these tours is the end of April/early May (before it gets too hot in the Summer). There is a 5 car max per tour, so you never feel like you’re getting left behind or being crowded by other drivers. If you can squeeze this into your itinerary, I highly recommend it! We loved it!

*Note: per the company website, drivers have to be 21+.

Summary

Moab is the perfect destination for adrenaline junkies and those looking to for outdoor adventures! My favorite part of the trip was the 4×4 tour. I was joking with my husband that I’m quitting my job and coming back to be a guide LOL

Have you visited Moab before? If so, what were some of your favorite spots?!
